After using Indesign a few times it will probably become more second nature. The explanation on how the application can be a little confusing. At the same time if followed along at a decent pace, there should not be much of a problem for anyone. The editing of the photo framing does seem a little confusing as well, but once you have done it yourself it will be much easier to understand.

This video focuses on simple design technique ideas for your work to make it stand out and look more interesting. The three designs are a brush stroke filled in by a photo, an image trace adjacent, and a cut out effect. This uses similar techniques that can be used in other applications like Illustrator. You can use a vector image to get the wanted outline for the final product you want within InDesign. Adding in the image to the vector also seems pretty straight forward and easy, there are not so many steps to frustrate you. All three techniques are super easy and it is a fun way to play around and get to know the software better.
